THE LITHUANIAN SCIENCE COUNCIL-FUNDED RESEARCHER CLUSTER PROJECT IS COMPLETED "BLOOD EOSINOPHIL SUBTYPE-SPECIFIC MIRNAS AS BIOMARKERS AND THERAPEUTIC AGENTS IN ASTHMA"
Abstract
The Lithuanian Academy of Medical Sciences of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU Academy of Medicine), Department of Pulmonary Oncology, has started in June 2021 and has recently completed the research project "Blood eosinophil type-specific miRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets in asthma" funded by the Council of Science of the Republic of Lithuania (funding agreement No. S-MIP-21-17). The project was carried out by the research team of the Department of Pulmonology, LSMU MA, led by Prof. Skaidrius Miliauskas, in collaboration with the Human Genome Research Group, Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre. The aim of the project is to investigate blood eosinophil-type-specific micro ribonucleic acids (miRNAs) as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for asthma.
