Abstract

Sleep-related hypoventilation syndrome is characterized by elevated PaCO2 during sleep usually accompanied by arterial oxygen desaturation. The most frequent symptoms are morning headache, unrefreshing sleep, daytime sleepiness. Early diagnosis and effective treatment prevents severe complications.
