Abstract
Co-operation of thoracic surgery and pneumonology ensure urgent medical aid for patients suffering from acute tracheal pathology. As usually, the specialists in pneumonology begin the management (diagnostics and conservative treatment, bronchological interventions) of these patients. However, in some cases occurre indications for urgent thoracic surgery. This article discusses the indications for urgent thoracic surgery in an acute tracheal pathology (progressive stenosis, foreign bodies, tracheo-esophageal and tracheo-arterial fistula).
