OSTEOPONTIN IN PATHOGENESIS OF ALLERGIC AND RESPIRATORY DISEASE

Abstract

Osteopontin is phosphoglycoprotein, which is expressed by different cells. Its role in pathogenesis of different diseases was begun to investigate about XX century 9th decade. Aim of this article is to describe the role of osteopontin in pathogenesis of allergic and respiratory diseases. Studies performed on mice and patients with these diseases show that osteopontin activates synthesis, secretion and effect of inflammatory mediators.
