Abstract

Allergen avoidance and specific allergen immunotherapy are
etiologic treatments for respiratory allergies. Sublingual allergen-specific immunotherapy is becoming a routine treatment of respiratory allergy in both adults and children in several countries and it has been validated in international documents. Long-lasting clinical and immunologic efficacy, preventive effect and safety of sublingual immunotherapy are a priority of this treatment.
