Abstract

Breathing is a complex process involving various organ systems. Its’ fundamental objective is to meet the needs of oxygen of organism and to eliminate carbon dioxide. Adult and children respiratory systems and their physiology are different. Higher mortality rates related to respiratory system in children are explained by these disparities. Respiratory distress may be caused by pulmonary diseases or impairment of other organ systems. Respiratory failure may evolve from respiratory distress. The main treatment for conditions mentioned above is oxygen therapy.
