Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is chronic, progressive, and disabling. The disease is characterized by a progressive decline in lung function and a decrease in physical activity and physical capacity. This significantly limits daily human activity and promotes disease progression. Bronchodilators are the key to treating COPD. However, recent attention
has focused improvement of physical activity and capacity, which can be effectively achieved by combining pharmacotherapy with behavioral therapy: facilitates the improvement of physical activity that is directly related to the outcome of the disease.
